Mission statement for the UK JUGS (Java user group for Scotland)

UKJUGS is a community of individuals with a common interest in Java.

It is composed of software engineers, computer science students and interested others.

Our primary aim is to promote the adoption and understanding of Java and related technologies.

Through our activities we aim to help beginners learn the fundamentals of Java programming and also assist those who are familiar with Java to discover new technologies.

Our activities will involve online discussions and regular meetings. Through these forums we will enable experienced programmers to present both their software and their knowledge.

Where appropriate we will promote the ideals of the open source community.

In summary UK JUGS will provide comfortable surroundings to enable the discussion of Java related topics with like-minded friendly programmers.

JUGS is a registered Java User Group
